Comrie Golf Club

What we say
It’s literally down the road from the mighty legendary Gleneagles so you can imagine the setting – simply sensational with magnificent views over the Strathearn valley. Comrie has been around since 1891 and is undoubtedly one of the finest and most scenic nine holers in the UK let alone Scotland. James Braid played a lead role in its creation and the other beauty of Comrie is that each of the nine holes has its own distinctive character with the 3rd and 5th being classy par-3s, the most memorable of half-rounds climaxing with a nerve-jangling tee shot through an avenue of trees.
The views of the village and the surrounding Perthshire hills are stunning, and the course, at over 6000 yards from the medal tees, presents a challenging yet thoroughly enjoyable test to golfers of all abilities. Every hole has its own distinctive character, as may be expected of a course in whose design James Braid had a hand, and no two holes are remotely the same. |
