Liberton Golf Club

What we say
Liberton Golf Club is a rolling, parkland course in the south east of Edinburgh. The fairways are tight and the greens are relatively small but well guarded, so we can offer an enjoyable and testing round of golf for all levels of golfer.
Founded in 1920, the course is set on 82 acres of undulating parkland. The greens are closely guarded with bunkers, requiring your total concentration on approach. The fairways can be quite tight requiring good accuracy off the tee.
A recent large-scale tree planting project has generated significant benefits for the course. Several holes were lengthened or reshaped as well. At the same time, new fairway bunkers added to the difficulty. As the young trees mature, the course changes in nature year on year.

Liberton might not be the longest course but it is difficult. You have hit decent tee shots into the correct position. The course is always in great condition with brilliant greens. The members make you feel welcome and the food is good.

I played in there seniors open on the 7th may 2013' wasn't expecting much due to the weather we have been having and by going with the condition of my own course...... Boy was I in for a present surprise!! The greens were immaculate very quick and true. I can't fault any part of the course, fairways were so tidy and well presented not a blade of grass out of place. Though I didn't play well I had a superb day. After finishing the round we went into the clubhouse for some fish and chips, they were great. 10/10 overall experience and ill be seeing you at the same time next year, if not before it. Well done liberton and all involved.

This is among my top three courses in Edinburgh along with Braid Hills and Kingsknowe. This is a very short course and if you're driving well you'll only ever be left with a 8-PW in. But the approach shots on this course require pin point precision because the greens are well protected and fast. It's maybe not got that wow factor that a links course has but it's a really nice parkland course. I will play this course time and time again and that's a testiment to it.
