What we say
A top stay-and-play venue close and convenient for Glasgow. A joint creation between Dave Thomas and Seve Ballesteros, it weaves through a combination of fir and silver birch trees and heather.

The Westerwood is one of the premier golf hotels in Scotland. The magnificent 18-hole, par 72 golf course guides you through a paradise of silver birches, firs, heath and heather.
The golf course was designed by Seve Ballesteros and Dave Thomas and features a wide variety of challenges for golfers of all abilities, including the water hazards at the 4th, the cunningly placed bunkers at the 6th and the spectacular 15th (aptly named 'The Waterfall') which runs alongside a 40ft rock face.

Loved this course - especially the Seve signature waterfall hole 15th, brilliant par 3 from an elevated tee to a green surrounded by a waterfall. Breathtaking views, traditional Scottish hospitality, loved it.

Having played Westerwood today I was left feeling totally underwhelmed. From the first tee this course screamed mediocrity.Yes, a fancy big building greets you on arrival and you think you are in for a golfing experience to remember, but ,the reality on the course is somewhat different.Nondescript holes on the front nine merge into similar fare on the back nine, which is largely played through a housing estate. The signature waterfall hole was a complete let down, the severe climb to the following tee merely re-inforcing this dissapointment. As for the 18th,this must be one of the most bland and dissapointing closing holes on any course.P.S. A fiver for a roll and bacon!!!!.If you enjoy being mugged this is the course for you.

westerwood has gone down hill big time played it at the begining of march it needs a lot of work done on the drainage had to walk round the course fobbed of with some lame excuse that the buggys were supose to be needing fixed i would rather go and play at my local council course (barshaw park) it cost a lot less and does not get as water logged as westerwood does

A warm welcome from the pro in a portakabin so facilities are basic ie pro shop for odds and sods and a loo.Weather was okay on the day but had been raining all week previous to our visit.Normal tees and greens were used. The course was wet not as bad as we thought it was going to be but the GREENS were as if it was the height of summer the were surprisingly hard and fast but they ran very true to which my 5&4 win over my playing partner can vouch for HaHa.
