St Michaels Golf Club

What we say
St Michaels is very much an unsung hero of St Andrews and Fife. This undulating parkland layout is meticulously plotted just west of the Old Grey Toon and its elevated location affords great views of golf’s most famous town.
The heavily tree-lined parkland/heathland combination is an outstanding inland alternative to the luscious links nearby and lies on a prehistoric settlement that is protected by Historic Scotland.
Because of its well-draining sandy base it’s always in good nick and playable while the other major plus point about St Michaels is that it belongs to 2-FORE!-1 so you can play it for half-price… with a 2-FORE!-1 voucher of course.
Although there are several candidates, star hole is the par-3 15th which has got to be one of the most demanding short holes in Fife: it’s fraught with danger which includes OB on the left and bunker front right while the main railway line lurks just behind the green.
A par-70 parkland course, St Michaels Golf Club has fantastic views over the Eden Estuary and the churches of St Andrews. It's a fun and challenging course to play.
The short 15th, known as "St. Mikes", is considered by many to be one of the most demanding short holes in Fife, with OB left and a bunker short right to catch any pushed approaches.

Great reception from friendly staff, The course is situated in a beautiful location with stunning views Don't let its lack of length fool you there are some demanding holes and the greens are challenging. Great value, lovely course well worth a visit as it is suitable for even the highest of handicap golfers.

Played St Michaels on a Sunday, late morning tee, in a fourball. Two contrasting 9 holes but in decent condition with small but good greens. £18 per player with vouchers well worth it and a welcoming clubhouse and staff. We will be back.

Having just returned from a very enjoyable round of goldf i would encourage anyone thinking of playing this course not to have any 2nd thoughts. The course plays like two different course because it is, the first 9 being the original course plays back and forward with two excellent par 3`s and some almost driveable par 4`s protected by some excellent bunkers. The back 9 holes almost look like championship course holes with all being very individual and testing, especially the 15th with it huge drop from tee to green and the 16th. The course was very well maintained with lightning fast greens. Would we play this course again, dam right we will with the added bonus of 2 fore 1 vouchers being accepted 7 days per week.

Very friendly staff, don’t be put off by the shortish length of the course. The greens are fast and tricky, and the majority have run offs. Worth visiting just for the par 3 15th. What a view! This is a course where skill and finesse will prevail. Try to power this course at your peril. A very difficult start with 3 of the hardest holes in the first 4. An excellent test of golf.
