What we say
An unsung hero of Scotland’s Golf Coast, Whitekirk is a quirky modern undulating heathland track, making the most of natural water hazards and offering stunning Firth of Forth views, often from elevated tee boxes. It’s just about to undergo a ‘tweak’ at the hands of 1999 Open champion Paul Lawrie but the course will remain open and in play throughout.
Whitekirk presents a stern challenge owing to the very nature of the rolling terrain allied to the gorse-lined fairways and the wind coming off the Firth of Forth. You’ll also enjoy the thrill of hitting off several elevated tees and putting out on USGA-spec greens. East Lothian’s golfing coast is peppered with outstanding links venues but even heading slightly inland doesn’t dilute the quality on offer – as Whitekirk perfectly illustrates. The 1st is a little bit fiddly, but after this the course blossoms into a stern, fair test. If you play well you should score well, but the wind is a constant foe and there is always a sprinkling of gorse awaiting a stray shot.

With elevated tees that offer the best views across East Lothian, this is definitely a course not to be missed. The use of natural water hazards and the undulating terrain make the course a tough yet fun one to play.

From the moment we were welcomed by the pro in the shop me and my friends loved every minute of this little treasure the members we bumped into and all the staff could not have been more welcoming and as for the course it was brilliant and a good test although not the longest the amount of blind shots really make you work on how to play your way round the views of the surrounding countryside were breathtaking as well. all in all a great day had by all

Great course. Some tricky driving holes, many of them blind to the green. The greens are very fast and are host to many difficult breaks. Great food, great welcome, so good i became a member

Alright. Not much more to say - worth playing but won't be etched forever in your memory

Great course that played very fair in blustery conditions. Also recorded my best score of the year here - great course!
