Blackwwod has recently gone under something of a minor transformation. The course itself is the same, and is a test of golf for all levels. A wonderful parkland course, it has some very testing and rewarding golf holes, including the 200yard par 3 3rd. It offers great views from the 17th tee (or the 9th fairway!!). Back at the centre itself, there is now a well stocked pro-shop and teh bar/restaurant is now run by Stephen Jeffers and renames Jeffers at Blackwood.

This is a challenging but fair parkland course set up to cater for golfers of all abilities. It has numerous great holes that demands the player use their head and an ability to work the ball. It is unpretentious and cheap to play. The driving range is second to none and even the par 3 18 hole "ava" course has some demanding features and quailty greens. All in all a great experience and a fantastic way to play a great course relatively inexpensively.
