I really enjoy playing this course and it has improved so much even in just the last year. There are a couple of holes which really make you think about club selection and is fun to score on, despite being challenging. Give it 10 years and it will be brilliant

The courese is a great teat of skill, a balance of strategy, precision and will test all aspects of your game. I think it's probably better for the middle or better handicapper as the fairways are tight in places and greens very tricky. Greens and tees are in good condition in general but the course lacks the maturity, and attention to detail (e.g quality of cart paths and signing directions, shabbyness of the driving range) to compete with the more exclusive courses over here and in portugal. It really has potential to be great though. The accommodation is the weak point, although the rooms are comfortable enough, the decor harks back to the 60/70s and the quality of dinner served is awful. The accommodation also features a gym and a swimming pool in reasonable quality. Very nice for a weekend break on a budget. Fustrating though as it could be so much better.

After phoning to check green fees etc. I was glad to hear that the club were offering a 'Credit Crunch' round, with discounted green fees coffee and Bacon Bap. Having read the other reviews which were from 2007 I figured that the course would be in better shape than the reviews expressed. I was not disaapointed!. The welcome was very warm and friendly with the course manager made sure that I was ok with everything. The facilites was good and the course in excellant shape. The worst part was it was an extremely windy day!! which caused me to loose several balls. The course was pretty difficult for me (high handicapper) but with some lovely holes. If you are put off by the reviews of a couple years ago - let me encourage you to visit the Wiltshire.

After a day where there was a charity event with celebs i thought i would try out this course thinking it would be i its best condition. If this is as good as it gets then i would not return here. The welcome was poor to say the least, the course was not in a good condition, and the lay out was very poor. This Golf course does not justifie the £30 price it asks for. Poor, Poor, Poor.

I've playeed this course many times over the last few years, and each time i leave wondering just when it is going to become 'what it should be' . The bunkers are a disgrace, and the new holes have been thrown in hastily. But, given time it will be one of the best in Wiltshire. It can only improve. The same can be said of the welcome (or lack of) ..Members look snootily down their noses at visitors and are very unwelcoming. The bar area is too small for just having a drink. It's good, but not that good....yet

I'm a member of this this course and even I am not bothering to play it at the moment.. New holes were built and should have been left to overwinter until April 2007. Unfortunatley the owners decided to shut some of teh original holes and open up the new ones last September 06. This has been an absolute disaster, non of the new holes are in any condition to played properly and all we are doing is churning them up. Why didn't they wait for the extra time to pass before they opened up the new holes you might ask! Well it probably has something to do with the holiday homes they are now building on the old holes that were closed. My suggestion is keep away until we've had about 3 months of dry weather then it might be worth paying the green fees. Other than that go play one of teh other courses in the area, most hold up to a British winter alot better than 'The Wiltshire'.
