What we say
Tidworth Garrison Golf Course is a downland golf course with many spectacular views over the Salisbury Plain. Described as "Wiltshire's little Wentworth", it provides a fair test for all golfers, from the more experienced player right through to the novice.
The par 3 13th is regarded by many as one of the best par 3s in the county if not the country. With two demanding par 5s and a finishing four-hole 'loop' alongside the clubhouse, it makes for a great round of golf.
Practice facilities consist of a driving range, three practice nets, a superb full-size practice green with four bunkers and a practice putting area in front of the clubhouse. The clubhouse has a spike bar and a main bar and restaurant.

Don't be fooled by the first hole, just over 300 yards and a wide(ish) inviting fairway leads you to think that you're in for an easy time. As you wind your way along the edge of Salisbury plain you are met with different challenges on each hole. Quite often you find yourself on an unflat lie, the fairways tend to slope leaving you having to compensate. The star holes are the 4th, 12th and 13th, the "loop of death" is the final four holes where you can easily turn a good score bad. The winter has been good to the course making the greens true and quick and overall conditions excellent. Better changing room and bar facilities has ,ade the course more welcoming also. I look forward to playing in the summer when the greens will I imagine be lightning fast.

Wiltshires "Hidden Gem" perfectly sums up this test of golf, with a good mix of holes, that will challenge the best players but still being playable to lesser mortals. For anyone who needs a change from the ever increasing number of new parkland courses where length and water are it's only defence then they should play Tidworth and see whwere game management comes into play, with the course not being monstreously long but every shot you have to think about.I've played Tidworth frequently over the winter and have been very impressed by the condition of the course, especially the greens which many courses would be satisfied with in the summer months.

a nice course that is looking like its going to be fantastic during the summer this year with greens already getting quite pacy. the last 4 holes provide a testing finish to your round and require concentration levels to be maintained. good value on a 2for1 deal
