There has been a golf course on the present site since 1966, with the full 18 holes being completed in 1969 when Shrivenham was officially opened by former Open champion Max Faulkner and ex-Ryder Cup star Brian Barnes.
Now a mature course set in 110 acres, Shrivenham Park has developed a deserved reputation as offering a fine test for golfers of all abilities. Most memorable holes are the 5th, 6th & 7th - Shrivenham's very own 'Amen Corner.'

Played this course for the first time yesterday using the 2 fore 1 offer, Was a bit but off by the club house as its a bit on the basic side but who am i to complain when i spent about £8 for a round of golf using the 2 fore 1. The course is well maintained with some brilliant greens that will test and standard of player, but what is really brilliant about this course is holes 5,6 and 7. These are 3 of the best holes Ive played this year and feel my money was worth every penny just to play these fantastic holes. Hole 7 was so difficult with a frightning Dog right, and yes i hit out of bounds twice with my tee shot. But that didnt put me off at all and look forward to playing there again! Yes there are some very basic holes but for the small green fee you pay you will leave pleasently suprised!

The welcome was great but unfortunately it didn't live up to it. Apparently just been taken over by the members and they are starting to get things sorted hopefully when I go back it will live up to its potential.

Havent played there for a few years since moving away from the Swindon area, but it was always a good course to play. Facilities were a bit basic and parking could be a nightmare during busier times. But if you ignore that it gives a decent enough test of a golfers ability.
