Have been playing this course for over a year, it's excellent value for money, good layout and nice greens for a municipal. Two negatives - firstly I it rains it closes, full stop. Secondly, the staff are not welcoming, I almost feel sorry for some of them. One member of staff in particular (the one with the weasel looking face) is very rude and dismissive at every interaction.

This is one element of Swindon that I really miss. Broome Manor is where I spent many days (and nights) honing my golfing skills, eventually dragging my handicap down from mid-20's to a respectable 18. It has everything you need for practicing: Decent sized putting green, 2 Tier driving range, practice ground for wedges & bunker shots, a half decent 9 hole and challenging 18 hole course that is probably the best municiple I've played on to date. My mates who have played there still hold the course in high regard, and we still laff about some of the duff dambusters type shots on the short par 3 over the water!!! Definately worth a look if you're in the area. Unless its been raining, but I think most of the courses in Swindon suffer with poor drainage. And don't forget David Howell learnt to play there, so it can't be all that bad! ;o]

Good standard of course for a municipal. The only real issues at this course are.. the immediate closure at the slightest heavy drop of rain,,and the tolerance of jeans, trainers, t shirts, and the sort of behaviour that comes with this. Other than that, good challenges all round
