What we say
The challenging par 72 course was designed by James Braid and are now well into their second century as a thriving members’ club situated in the heart of historic St Albans, known as Verulamium in Roman times.
Verulam has a tradition steeped in the game of golf. Samuel Ryder, who created the competition and donated the trophy in 1926, was a member at Verulam. His biennial competition between Europe and the USA is now, without doubt, the most important matchplay event in the world of golf.
