Moor Park Golf Club

It’s a very challenging course and though I’ve played it loads of times it’s always a serious test of golf. And the impressive mansion clubhouse is pretty special too. The stroke index 1 8th is the pick of the holes for me: it not only requires a long tee shot to a deceptively tight landing area but a tricky approach to a difficult green. I’m delighted if I walk off with par.

The High course has hosted both professional tournaments and EGU national events and every four years hosts the prestigious Carris Trophy.
The Moor Park estate itself dates back to the 17th century and has been the home of Queens, Archbishops and Peers of the Realm.
The Grade I listed mansion clubhouse was designed in the 18th century and is a magnificent example of classic English architecture. Golf-wise, the High Course is the main attraction but giving it solid support is the neighbouring 18 hole West Course.

I played this course in May 2008 on a corporate golf day, we played the High Course which I was very impressed with, course was in good condition, there were some excellent holes. The most impressive thing about the day from a visitors point of view was the clubhouse, it's absolutely amazing, I've never seen a clubhouse like it. The course overall was not the most challenging I've ever played but wasn't easy either, greens were true however I'm not sure £80 for a round in the week is good value compared to other courses I've seen at a similar standard, maybe it's to raise funds to maintain the clubhouse. Overall a great day good course, superb clubhouse I was just glad it was a golf day not an £80 round

I played both the courses on the 28th of April, and had a fantastic day and really enjoyed my rounds of golf, the only problem on the course was the greens but at this time of year, you cant expect too much. The course is a good course but not a great course, i was trying to think back to my rounds and no hole really stands out, the course just didnt have that same wow factor as the clubhouse
