Waterlooville Golf Club was founded with 35 members as a nine hole golf course in 1907 when a group of local enthusiasts met with the aim of forming a golf club in the area. The golf course wasn't extended to 18 holes until 1962.
The present layout was designed in 1976 by Henry Cotton, when the new A3(M) motorway was built, slicing much of the east side of the old course away.

The golf course has five par 5's over 500 yards and features four ponds as well as a stream running through it. It is always in excellent condition, particularly the greens which run fast and true.
