Lyme Regis Golf Club

What we say
Clifftop course with views to die for, looking down on the historic town and World Heritage Site of Lyme Regis. Coastal erosion has brought about some changes though the dramatic par-4 16th continues to run perilously close to the cliff edge.

Lyme Regis Golf Club occupies a cliff-top site with coastal views to Portland Bill and looks down on the historic town and World Heritage Site of Lyme Regis. Although on the top of a plateau the golf course itself is not actually hilly and golfers can enjoy an exhilarating round of golf and some magnificent views.
The club was founded in 1893. Owing to an on-going battle with coastal erosion the golf course has been the subject of several changes in design: the committee constantly keeps the golf course design under review and is dedicated to maintaining Lyme Regis as one of the premier golfing facilities in the area. There is a practice ground, chipping area and a practice bunker close to the first tee.

A real super course with a lot of variation, many memorable holes and great views along the coast line and rolling inland hills. A course I will always recommend as one of the top 3 I've played. Friendly clubhouse too ... DEFINITELY play there again more than once on our next tour of the UK.

Firsty, the pictures seen here in no way do this course justice!! the views are spectacular, but don't let them distract you from what is a superb golf course. The greens (along with the rest of the course)are very, very well maintained. With friendly staff and a wide range of facilities available i urge anyone to come down and experience what i belive to be one of the best courses in the south west!
