Isle of Purbeck Golf Club – Dene Course

What we say
If you love courses with a view this will suit you down to the ground: the jaw-dropping views of Poole harbour simply add to one of the south’s most interesting layouts though unfortunately wild ponies and rabbits leave their marks, so some of the fairways can be a bit rough and ready. Watch out for the wicked dog-leg par 4 5th in more ways than one – make sure you savour the stunning harbour views from the elevated tee because you’ll probably not look up again!

The Isle of Purbeck Golf Club dates back to 1892 and among the past owners, responsible for the extension to 27 holes, were Enid Blyton, legendary author of children's books and her husband Dr Darrell-Waters.
The superb main course is backed up by the nine hole Dene Course which certainly ends with a flourish - the 9th overlooks a valley with the town of Swanage nestling at the bottom.
Stay & Play: The Pines Hotel and the Banks Arms at Corfe Castle.
