What we say
Well established Ashley Wood has been described by none other than Peter Alliss as “the best kept secret in Dorset."
Constructed on downland, the fairways are undulating and although the 3rd hole has a short sharp hill, all the others are easy walking. Four holes are played within the ancient woodlands of Ashley Woods, impressively carpeted with bluebells in May.
Being natural chalk downland, the golf course drains very quickly and remains playable in all but the most extreme weather. In fact the golf course is rarely closed for long, and trollies have only been banned for four days during the last ten years.

Extreemly good, undulating course. If the wind is up plays very much like links golf with its open fairways very much affected by the wind. Currently has on going work on the par 3 7th, so that is the only hole on temps at the moment. As for the 19th, it has a very friendly atmosphere in a comfortable surrounding and the club professional is always willing to give advice on purchase and course tips.

The course is in very good condition with excellent greens and tees. Course not too long with quite a few of the par 4's well within driving distance of any reasonable player. Enjoyble course to play and would highly recommend.
