Hennerton Golf Club

What we say
Hennerton is in an area of outstanding beauty overlooking views of the Thames Valley. Formerly a nine-hole golf course opened by Bernard Gallagher in 1992, Hennerton reopened as an 18-hole golf course in June 2006. The new holes consist of some spectacular par 3s with large contoured greens to ensure the golfer concentrates on good iron play.
Hennerton welcomes non-members and visitors throughout the week both on the golf course and in the clubhouse. The clubhouse serves good home-cooked food daily within a beautiful dining room with panoramic views from the terrace.
The club has a covered and floodlit driving range, a putting green and a well-stocked pro shop. There are two resident PGA-professionals offering lessons seven days a week and advice on all your golfing needs.

I have recently played a few rounds at Hennerton with friends and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The course is not long, but the lack of length is more than offset by some well placed hazards and picturesque short holes. The greens are adequate at this time of year and generally improve as the season progresses. The clubhouse has a friendly atmosphere and the bar stocks "Rebellion beer" which is always well received. I would highly recommend this course to 2-Fore-1 members.

After playing one round of golf here i decided to join. Yes i does have lots of par 3's but each one is deifferent and all require thinking about, the greens are also quite tricky but well maintained and the bunkers are all placed in good positions making the course a little more tricky.my favourite hole is definatley the 5th but im also a big fan of the 15th and 16th. The food is nice and the club house has great view of the course. And the intermediate membership was only £440 per yeah with no joining fee.Really cant complain i also feel this is a course that i could play lots without getting bored of.

Although Hennerton has some undeniably short par threes, all needed thought and care. Greens are undulating with some subtle breaks. The whole course was excellent, and within just one week of what has been the wettest summer on record! The sixteenth (signature hole) really does have "wow factor"! Even the bunkers were in tip top condition, and the food and welcome back at the clubhouse topped a great day. Fantastic value!!!

Nice course for beginnners or anybody wanting to work on their iron play. Many small par 3's and short par 4's make this a very easy course to score on. Greens are very soft and fairly long in the winter which makes putting very challenging.
