Berkshire Golf Club – Blue Course
Last updated:
What we say
The plain sister to the Red course. After a daunting introduction, the Blue is more charming than expected. The easier of the two Berkshire courses offers less variety than the Red, but has the same amount of charm and beauty.
A fantastic mixture of holes with all winding within classic heathland.

The Berkshire really is a golfer's paradise with its two golf courses (Red and Blue) laid out on springy turf among mature timber and swathes of heather. The Red is the more senior golf course of this highly classy pair though both were the handiwork of Herbert Fowler who created them in 1928. Unusually, the Red boasts six pars 3s, six par 4s and six par 5s with the short par 4 6th featuring in the 500 World's Greatest Golf Holes book although the short holes are equally special.

This place is truly magnificient. All tees and greens excellent. The clubhouse appears a little stuffy with jacket and tie needed at all times but it truly is a classy place. The greens were all true and superb. Lots of tricky long par threes and make sure you keep out of the heather.
