You can’t really rate Weston-Super-Mare Golf Club as a top links layout but it offers a decent golfing day out with value-for-money being a major factor. It’s an easy-walking golf course – it’s flat and relatively featureless so it won’t blow you away from an aesthetics viewpoint. Generally-speaking the fairways are tight and it’s crucial to keep the ball straight and you also need to watch out for the lightning fast, but true, greens.

As normal Weston Super Mar golf club was in excellent condition for Weston Week. All year round the greens are in great shape probably the best course in the area for year round golf...

At first sight the course appeared relatively flat course, but playing it in the evening when the sun was going down you realise that it is far from flat. Mackenzie is renowned for his subtle relief of fairways and greens and strategic placing of bunkers and this together with the seaside winds is what makes the course a great challenge to golfers of all abilities, such that no professional has ever taken the course apart, although many great players have tried. On arrival I found the pro shop very welcoming and helpful. The quality of the course and in particular the greens were second to none and the friendliness of the girls and club members at the 19th made my visit a pleasure and I shall be returning to play again in the near future.

Firstly may I say the welcoming from the pro shop staff was brilliant and very helpful for me to find out where the tee's and facilities are, secondly I would like to express the sheer quality in the upkeep of the course as the greens were perfect and fairways were lushous too(when I found them), lastly I would like to thank to the members for being very kind and welcoming and especially having the the pleasure of getting a swing lesson from the club champion at the club who my group let through and what a great gentleman that man is, nothing but sheer quality at Weston golf club, I look forward to playing when visiting again from Scotland. Thanks Ash Webber.

Having played in the open back in June 4 of us travelled from shropshire to see what the day would bring. On arrival we were greeted with a warm welcome in the shop and given a few tips on certain holes. We went on in to the club house where the service was superb. The girls really looked after us. The club house is warm, friendly and you feel like you are being treated like a top customer. The course itself was magnificent. The greens were perfect speed, rolled true and that's not easy to do on a links type course. Sand in every bunker was exactly the same and the tee boxes all flat and correctly marked out. Fairways were beautiful( when we found one!) pure turf and striking the ball off this was great. Add all this in to the scenery and views and you have yourself a bargain. We have since been back and there was no difference in treatment on a normal day compared to an open. That's a sign of a good club. I can only say for the value it's one of the best courses around and I have played my fair share.

A great links course with great greens and very helpful staff and an enjoyable club house for the pare golf. Notable holes 2nd 4th 7th some classic holes and all memorable good value. Winter membership was excellent.
-
Played here on a windy and cold day. Greens and tees were in good nick. Pricey on a county card at £25 which the pro shop said was half the day rate (we only wanted to play one round)! Thus not great value and frankly a bit of profiteering going on. Won't hurry back.

when we first got there it was an initial struggle to actually know where we were going and we had to ask a member for the code to the changing rooms. after we'd signed in we tried the putting green which in question was very bobbly and not very good i am sad to say. however once we got going on the course it was alot more easy going. the greens on the course were much better than the putting green.the one thing i did notice was how short the three par 5s were, and all were "hittable!" in two. after the round we bought what only can be described as a "bucket" of cheesy chips for only £2.20! overall an enjoyable day if not quite as good as we'd expected. best hole is the short par 4 10th which felt as though it was the start of westons "amen corner" together with the par 3 11th and tee off of the par 4 12th which can all be seen from the clubhouse.hardest hole is probably the par 4 5th. with out of bounds and the beach right and devishly thick rough left fairway is a must!

Great welcome from the pro and males members. On the day we played there was a ladies competition and a few were lacking in manners demanding to be let through. Course in great condition, stray off the fairway and you will be in trouble. Light rough very quick to wrap around the club face and could prove expensive if not straight with drives and approach shots. Greens running very well, will definatley be going back. Four ball special for £100 gets 18 holes and a meal.
