What we say
China Fleet Country and Golf Club is steeped in history, developing from a Royal Naval canteen in Hong Kong to one of South West England's leading country clubs. The Martin Hawtree-designed golf course opened in 1991 and features 10 par fours, four par fives and four par threes. China Fleet is a great place to stay and play - there are 40 spacious apartments on site each with one or two bedrooms, a fully-equipped kitchen and lounge/diner and satellite TV.

Being a local to this course, and many other courses in the Plymouth area, this is only overshadowed by the St Mellion courses. Only because St Mellion has two courses to choose from. The course is fantastically kept, with all the old drainage issues fixed a few years ago. It is a pleasure to play almost anytime of year, being in the South West, we get the first and the worst of the UK weather. The greens are smooth and firm, fairways fairly tight with lots of rough to loose a ball, but it does aid shot improvement. The pro shop is well stocked and the staff very friendly and helpfull. The facilities are excellent and reasonably priced, with a wide range of 'other' sports catered for.
