What we say
Save a fantastic up to 38% when you book a tee time online
Thornbury Golf Centre has an 18-hole main golf course and 18-hole par 3 golf course. The main golf course is gently undulating and offers a fair test to players of all ability and the standard of the greens are a feature.
Excellent golf courses are backed up by first-class facilities including a 25-bay floodlit driving range, 11-bedroom lodge, private function and conference facilities as well as a bar and restaurant.
Meanwhile, Thornbury has responded to the changing nature of golfers’ behaviour and announced a new, flexible, membership opportunity for golfers from across the Bristol region.
The My Way membership allows golfers to play as often as they would like to at the public pay-and-play centre, but benefit those who don’t have the time, or disposable income, to play 18-holes more than two or three times per month.
Thornbury is part of BGL Golf, the UK’s leading golf course owner and operator, and all its members, including those taking advantage of the new scheme benefit from all the usual member benefits, such as:
- 10% discount in the Golf Shop
- Tee-time booking up to 14 days in advance (or 15 days online)
- 50% discount on green fees at eight further BGL Golf venues located across the UK
In addition, My Way members will become members of the County Golf Union and England Golf, hold an official handicap and be eligible for regular club competitions.
Golfers taking advantage of the new My Way membership at Thornbury may play up to twice a month on the 18-hole Marlwood Course, plus once on the Severn View Short Course, or as much as five times on just the shorter layout.
My Way members who use all their monthly allocation can simply book the tee times they desire and receive up to 25% discount on standard green fee prices. Membership costs just £38 per month – less than the price of two standard green fees and 48% less than a seven-day membership.

played thornbury for the 1st and last time today.lets start from beginning not a very warm welcome from the less than friendly woman at the desk, the range was closed and the putting green not ready.our four ball tee'd off before seniors day started, on the 1st tee 1 of our four ball hit a slice[no chance to practice] so it took a couple of minutes to find it but then hurried up so we did not hold anyone up but going up the 3rd the ranger stops us to tell they have had complaints about us holding up play[ well in all the years we have been playing golf we have never been told we are slow and the highest handicapper is a 12 so we all play reasonable golf] and we and told us to finish hole and then go on to the 10th,well if the oh so welcoming seniors are not used to having anyone in front of them why didn't the club give us earlier start time or started us off at the 10th.so the course lets just say average at best

Very friendly welcome and very enjoyable course. Fairly open so can give the driver a bash and a nice mix of holes. Favourites are a downhill par 5 to start which is reachable in 2 for big hitters and the par 4 17th which really gets you thinking (I teed off with a 6 iron!). Certainly excellent value for money and also a good driving range to warm up on beforehand.
-
a great course to play as long as its not too windy. i enjoy the challenge every time i play. ideal for low and high handicapers. by far the best hole is the 17th with lakes on either side of the fairway
-
Well worth a try, well priced green fees and freindly staff the only slight dissapointment was that some of the front 9 holes can get a bit tiedious loved the 17th.
-
very friendly atmosphere, great driving range, well kept course, enjoyable to play, not to demanding for the high handicaper. Food and drink is good and reasonably priced.
