What we say
The most manicured of the ‘three Ws’, this course is very pleasant and has very fast greens. Comes to life from the 4th, when it becomes more heathland in feel.

Worplesdon is one of Surrey’s best and most attractive golf courses: it is rich in heather and fir trees and has all the properties of a first-class inland course. Created by Mr. F J Abercromby, the original design has remained largely untouched since 1907 when the designer visualised the reality of a top class golf course from what was then just a wilderness of trees and heather. Worplesdon has a wealth of fine holes including some impressive par 3s including the signature hole 10th which has a large lake to carry off the tee and a testing three-tier green. The 175 yards 13th has been featured in the UK’s top 100 holes, featuring a green that is heavily bunkered on all sides.

Had the pleasure of playing this course on Friday 5th September 2014.With James Somerside,Ashworth Rep & Nick Wright Editor of Golf World,I can honestly say it was one of the best courses I have played and was in first class condition a credit to the green staff.Had the pleasure of paring the signature hole.Dave Bowen.

After being very fortunate in playing with a member and getting the subsequent discount, this course probably rates in my top 3 Uk courses I have played. Really nice and traditional (silly long-sock rule with shorts, but other than that, great) clubhouse. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Great after-round baguette. The course, whilst not massively long, plays very well. Challenging, and a good player can really take advantage, but the stars are the simply spectacular greens. Running fast and true, you could not ask for more. Relatively firm means you have to lay up short, but getting down is a great challenge. Overall, if you get the chance, go and visit!
