Wildwood Country Club – Course A

What we say
An excellent parkland in the countryside to the south of London, Wildwood is always in great nick and several water hazards will keep you honest.
There are 27 holes so a round will consist of two of the three nine-hole loops (Parkland, Lakes & Woodland). The most memorable holes include a par 3 to an island green and a demanding par 4, called Davey Jones, which involves two lots of water and driving over a lake
Wildwood opened in 1992, and was designed by Hawtree, and located in the heart of breathtaking Surrey countryside, yet only 55 minutes outside central London.
At 6655 yards, par 72, with USGA specification bent grass tees and greens and numerous water hazards, this superb parkland golf course presents a challenge for golfers of every standard.
A testing par 3 short golf course, with a number of exciting holes over water opened in Spring 2002. The addition of a recently completed new nine hole loop on the Championship Course now provides golfers with the added playing flexibility of 27 continuous holes.

This course consists of 27 holes split into 3 9's. My son and i played the Parkland and Woodland courses at the end of April on a cut price deal. For the money overall i guess it was ok but I would have been very disappointed if I had paid full price. Many of the tees had not been cut in a long time and were covered in dandelions which is not what you expect to find at this type of course. Additionally the bunkers needed more sand and could have done with some attention. This could be a very good course but it needs some tlc to get it into condition.
