Surrey National Golf Club

What we say

It’s just over a decade old and provides all you need and ask of a modern clubhouse including three function rooms, Spike Bar and Sports Lounge with a wall-mounted large TV screen. It also happens to overlook the 18th green and provides grandstand views over the lake and course.

Opened in April 1999 Surrey National Golf Club is a great choice for golfers both on and off the golf course. Designed by David Williams and set in an area of natural beauty, the golf course meanders through dramatic rolling countryside with thousands of mature trees.
The club has earned a fine reputation as one of the best golf courses to play throughout the year within the M25, offering excellent drainage, fairway irrigation and buggy paths. The superb clubhouse has excellent facilities including hospitality rooms for small and large gatherings. There is also a driving range and short game practice area. Visitors/golf groups are welcome seven days a week (subject to availability).

  • 4 out of 5 Great course in fabulous condition

    By alan potter

My friend and i took advantage of an offer of £22 each and a buggy, the buggy was needed as there was a lot of elevation changesand would be a struggle for some. the course was in fantastic condition, greens very smooth with some subtle borrows, all round a good test for all levels of golfer. the only thing to put it down from 5 stars was the staff in the bar not very friendly and no food after 5pm! don't they know that in height of summer you can tee off in the afternoon and still get round before dark!

  • 4 out of 5 Great 241 Course

There aren't too many courses of this quality for £25 these days, with the credit crunch starting to bite golf bargains are still quite rare, the Surrey National stands out from the crowd. Playing on a nice sunny day does help with the mood before you take a swing on the 1st tee, some players prefer to see the hole from tee to green, but from the 1st tee you know what to expect all the way round, well manicured fairways hidden greens, you can rarely see the bottom of the pins from the fairway,i consider this to be a challenge. Greens are quite solid so you need to be accurate, good range of holes, you can open the shoulders on most and play safe on others,Surrey National is a good test for all range of Handicaps. Enjoy!!

  • 4 out of 5 Good in the winter!

    By kev the slice

Played the course in the middle of december - and had a little standing water on some holes but other than that it was brilliant considering the miserable conditions. Need to hit it long to score well but mis-hits can usually be recovered easily! Great practice facilities.

  • 4.5 out of 5 Great value

    By Just a shot away

Played this back in July and absolutely loved £25 with buggy you can't go wrong. Addington apart this is definately the best Altonwood group course. Just make sure your hitting that driver well! Also special mention to the members very friendly. Overall good feel abouty this club

  • 3.5 out of 5 Good but not great

    By dannyboy218@googlemail.com

Played as a 4-ball; the tees, fairway, greens and general maintenance are good, the downside was the buggies are limited which is understandable however annoying when you could probably walk quicker than the top speed; but you had to stick to the paths also, which result in you having to walk further than it would if you didn't bother with the buggy. The last hole is most picturesque but every hole is sadly lacking a major test; if you can hit it straight (unfortunately I couldn’t) then you should be alright and take you’re driver and birdy opportunities will definitely present themselves! But please don't be put off it's definately

  • 3 out of 5 Excellent society packages

    By Anonymous

Brilliant use of the hilly landscapes at Surrey National, atyer we have played there a good few times now with some great winter society deals. Be aware it is very hilly in parts so take your trolley if you can! Always been in great nick, even when we arived to an inch of snow. After a delay in the clubhouse for some breakfast we still managed to get out, and although soggy, all had a great time. The course has you playing ALONG the side of the hills rather than just up and down, which makes for some interesting lies, and a great finishing hole over/around/IN (!) the pond.

  • 3 out of 5 Take your big stick!

A nice course which plays long. You'll need to be hitting it well with the big stick to score well here. The practice facilities are excellent with a large driving range, and a great short game practice area. Overall there is a large variety of holes on this course providing an interesting and challenging days golf for people of all abilities.
