What we say
Highgate Golf Club was formed in 1904 on farmland owned by the Church Commissioners. The golf course was designed by Billy Winton who was then the profesional of the now defunct Acton Golf Club.
It is a friendly members' club which celebrated its centenary last year. It also lays claim to being the nearest 18 hole course to the centre of London. It is a hilly parkland golf course with four par 3s and a single par 5 yielding a total par of 69. Watch out for four of the toughest par 4s you're ever liekly to come across on a single course with a course record of 63.
