What we say
The Weald of Kent is a beautifully maintained 18 hole parkland golf course and hotel set in rolling Kent countryside with far reaching views, just a short drive from Maidstone & Ashford.
With many elevations, lakes and hazards the golf course is designed to challenge the most confident of players, but the well-maintained and wide fairways are forgiving to the golfing beginner too. The course suits all levels of play and is open all year round to members, visitors and hotel residents.

Good Public course. Can be forgiving if drives are wayward but varied holes makes it interesting. Greens are well maintained and price is fair.

Weald of Kent is not a difficult golf course if you hit the ball straight. The rough is not overly punitive and the scenery is pleasant whilst not astounding. Where the course is let down is by the clientele. Public golf courses can be exceptional but WofK is not one of them. The greens are always covered in unrepaired pitchmarks, the bunkers are often unraked and unreplaced divots litter the fairways. Any public golf course needs extra-vigilant greenkeepers to make sure that the rabble out destroying the course do not spoil it for those who can actually play the game; I have never yet seen a greenkeeper on the course but I am told that they are too few in number to cope with all the necessary repairs. So, if you are a hacker then you will find WofK more than adequate for your game; if you play off anything decent then you will be frequently annoyed by the above mentioned course-based issues and you will be driven up the wall by groups of idiots in golf carts zig-zagging and hacking their way around the course in front of you with no idea of the rules or any knowledge or belief in letting you 'play through.'.

Despite the other reviews I liked playing here. The course was very forgiving with wide open fairways, but it was well maintained and the greens were good. My only issue was with a four ball behind us who have no concept of the word FORE. As for a previous review about sand, it was only in the bunker.

Whilst the previous review was probably correct at the time, Id like to add that I live 5 miles from this course and have played it on many occasions. Whilst its not the greatest test of golf, the greens are normally good and the price is fair.

Like the beach, then you will love this course. So much sand on the fairways thought I was on a sand dune. Played in Oct after a few wet days and my ball refused to stay on some of the greens because of the amount of sand .Waste of money aviod at all costs. The greenkeeper should be on baywatch
