What we say
The East is an Open qualifier and requires solid shot-making to score well on. A meandering stream must be avoided on several holes while there is a terrific finishing hole which starts with a spectacular elevated tee. The West winds through woodland and an open valley floor.
Designed by Willie Park in 1901. The East course is longer than the West but many golfers think that the shorter course is more difficult. The East is surrounded by trees while the West is more hilly, with good views. Both are certainly a good test of golf.
