Marriott Tudor Park Hotel & Country Club

What we say
Tudor Park is only 30 miles outside London but feels a world away from the city. On the site of an ancient deer park, the Marriott Country Club is a great place to escape – though the course is the main attraction. Although the Donald Steel-designed layout, which weaves its way over rolling Garden of England countryside and in between mature trees, might not be the most memorable you’ll ever tackle, it is a fine parkland track with a good variety of holes. The fairways are fairly generous so golfers will enjoy opening their shoulders but Tudor Park shouldn’t be underestimated, specially following the recent addition of several bunkers.

Marriott Tudor Park Hotel and Country Club is located in the heart of Kent, the Garden of England. The golf course is surrounded by mature trees and picturesque backdrops of Kentish countryside and local oast house architecture.
Designed by Donald Steele and set in parkland grounds, the beautiful Milgate House is a central feature of the golf course. The challenging layout of narrow fairways and brand new greenside bunkers will prove to be a stern test yet an enjoyable experience for all golfers. This venue hosted the 2003 and 2004 Europro Tour Events. There is a practice putting green and a driving range on site. Lessons are available from Andrew Brooks, Tudor Park’s head professional.
Stay & Play: There's a 119-room hotel on site along with excellent leisure facilities including a spa, gym, and swimming pool.

I have played this course many times but my partner is new to the game so I decided to treat him to a round of golf here and we were not disappointed. We teed of at 12.30 and had a very comfortable round with no one holding us up or pressing from behind. The course is well maintained and is challenging but fair. The starter and the staff in the pro shop were very friendly and helpful but we were a little disappointed with the selection of items in the pro shop itself. We stayed at the on site hotel and were not impressed with it but would definitely play here again and use another hotel.

Conformation e-mail of Tee-Time Booking received and paid and played. On the day there were about 40 youngsters enjoying lessons and games on the practice areas. There was still just enough room (reserved) for us to have a few practice putts. My partner was late (Op Stack) and the Starter kindly slotted us in a bit later. Just before we went off a three ball returned complaining that there was a real hold up on the 10th and 11th with at least 4 games waiting for players in front of them. The three ball gave up. We had no such problems and both enjoyed a good looking course with good greens and fairways. We also enjoyed a pint and crisps in the shade afterwards. Recommended, as with the 2-Fore-1 good value.

Lovely course, nice greens, a few tricky holes, good sand and well maintained Bunkers. Staff were friendly. Coffee was a bit expensive at £3.30 per cup, and we were charged £20 each on a 2-fore-1, when their mid week green fees are £30. Sorry, but I wouldn't play there again at that price.

Me and a friend played here in mid february during a fairly miserable spell, weather wise, it had been particularly wet for several days previous and was rather cold on the day of play...despite this we recieved a very warm welcome from the staff of both the pro shop and the bar/restaurant upstairs. After our coffee and bacon roll we decided to hit the practice bunker and green to warm up a little and met the marshall in his hut by the 1st tee, also a very friendly gent and very helpful to boot. Once we got under way we noticed that despite the bad weather, we hadn't used any temporary tees or had to putt on temporary greens either...and better still, the greens had drained brilliantly and were surprisingly very slick considering...in very good condition throughout, my only critisism being that they were very straight forward, no undulations to make things that little more interesting or difficult, but considering I play off 28 that should be a positive most people would think!!! In general the course was in very good condition throughout...a little boggy in very few areas, certainly couldn't criticise considering the weather of late. It is a fairly open course so you have many opportunities to let rip with the bad boy if you so desire, and although the views are not spectacular and you wouldn't say the course has a signature hole of such...it is still a very pleasant 18 holes. We booked our tee time on the website as it reduced the price by about £10 per person so I would definately advise that as wouldn't say they warrant charging between £30-£40 for a green fee but well worth a round for the £20 we payed.

The course was well maintained although we played early in the year. The greens had been spiked and made putting hard work. I would play the course again without hesitation, it had a few challenging and off camber fairways, making club selection a must. overall a superb course for my 19 hadicap

We came here for a very last minute golf break last year, thanks to Marriot Hotels by the way,not really expecting much, the course is relatively short but what we liked was the lay out,big hitters can blast it on most holes but a good short game is essential as the greens are always fast what ever the weather. As with most marriot courses it was in very good condition. The hotel is absolutely fine for golfers decent size rooms, with most with some view of the course, large bar and dining area able to accomodate the largest of parties. We will be definetely going back for days out, with 2 for 1 this makes it a fantastic, easy to get to course where you are virtually guaranteed it to be in good condition. Does get busy at weekends though
