Moor Allerton Golf Club

What we say

“Described by Peter Alliss as a ‘larger than life golfing experience’.

Moor Allerton Golf Course is a fabulous 27-hole parkland course, with a magnificant layout that blends in beautifully with the Yorkshire landscape. It is the first course in the UK to be designed by Augusta’s architect Robert Trent-Jones Sr.

The 220 acres are stunning and demanding at the same time, due to the nature of the rolling terrain and sloping greens which provides a challenge to both casual and competitive golfers alike.

The big greens throughout the 27 holes make it a real test of a player’s putting skills and every hole has something a little different, whether it’s a stream to avoid or an elevated green protected by plenty of bunkers.

Since opening, Moor Allerton Golf Course has hosted to the likes of Sir Nick Faldo, Greg Norman and Seve Ballesteros. In 2017 it hosts the Clipper Logistics Players Championship on the PGA EuroPro Tour again.

Moor Allerton’s three loops of nine:

Lakes – Par 71 (6221 yards)

The course looks great, but the fairways do not have enough grass, the greens were slow although they have stimp reading of 9.6! They dont do hot sandwiches the dining room was closed. We had a choice either sit in small room a bit like a greenhouse (The members locker room is larger) or sit outside with a jumper to keep warm the rest of the clubhouse was closed!! We wont be rushing back

  • 4 out of 5 A lovely course

This is simply a lovely course.  Great layout and plenty of hazzards to keep you scratching your head.  It really is a challenge to beat your handicap, as there are very few straight forward holes. Well worth a visit.

Our society played on a lovely day with a warm welcome and the course in great nick. The three loops of nine let us played nine as a texas scramble with the main event in the afternoon. The three loops offer loads of variety with water , bunkers, big greens and some elevated tees and greens to play to. A challenge to beat your handicap but well worth a visit - we are already booked for next year!
