What a great course, a good mixture of holes, made a change to play somewhere where you don't have to take your driver on every hole. a good test of accuracy and course management. have read previous reviews about needing a buggy was a little concerned but only long walk was to the first tee which the course provided us with a lift up to the first.

This course is quite magnificent. The design benefits from the spectacular scenery in which it is set although the walk to and from the driving range and to the first will have you puffing like a steam-train, after this the course meanders through much gentler countryside and is far easier on your pins. Having played this layout a couple of times I would say that its only downfall is the nature of the sand in the bunkers, which after rain becomes very heavy compared to other courses of this quality but this is more than made up for by the USGA greens which are an abolsute dream to putt on. Overall though it is one which I intend to visit again often even though I live over 80 miles from it. The breakfast in the hotel is very nice indeed - although at tad expensive.

This course is thoroughly enjoyable, and as for me someone who has not been playing long (28handicap)it was a great test of my skill and accuracy. A buggy is a must and with on board sat nav it made my game easier as i still dont know about yardage and reading the greens. Make sure it's fully charged!.The lads in the pro shop are really friendly and helpful.Play it you wont be disapponinted. When its windy though take enough balls (ha)it can be hard to be accurate.

This course is a thoroughly enjoyable round of golf, however a must is a buggy. Every hole is enjoyable, some are outstanding particulary on the back 9. Play it and you will not be disappointed.

Part of a hotel chain and it shows when you reach the greens - why can't people repair their pitch marks?? Physically a tough course to walk (I always prefer to walk than take a buggy) which spoils the fun a bit. Also its an exposed course so unpleasant when its windy and rainy. However, others I payed with rated the course higher than me s0 give it a go.

Using two two for one vouchers my three playing partners and I booked an afternoon round at Hollins Hall. The weather had been rubbish all weekend and was still poor on monday morning as we arrived, after a friendly reception we tucked into a full english with coffee and tea, fuel for the day. We then ventured to the driving range on two curtesy buggies for a warm up then we got a lift to the practice putting green by the first tee great practice green. The first tee was quiet so we started five minutes early, what a fantastic course it was firm lush and fast despite the poor recent weather, the greens were a dream to play to, receptive true and a delight to putt on. Every hole was different and well set up tee positions made the course a fair but challenging for all our group of 8, 12, 17 & 20 handicapers. With some outstanding holes and the rest a very high standerd there wasn't a poor hole on the course, the weather was good to which made our day realy special and all for £20 each with the two for one vouchers, we're already planning a return visit with our wives later in the year
