Cookridge Hall Golf Club

What we say
This venue is rightly proud of its ancient 19th – the former 1820s coach house now houses a pro shop, spike bar, patio area and excellent changing facilities. You also get a bird’s eye view of the dramatic, driveable par-4 finale over water.
Designed and built by the design team who built The Emirates Club in Dubai, Cookridge Hall is home to a championship 6788 yard par 72 golf course. American in design, the course nestles away beautifully amid the countryside of north Leeds offering fantastic views of the Yorkshire Dales.
With intimidating water hazards strewn across the course and strategic bunkering, Cookridge Hall provides a stern test for golfers of all abilities. Aptly named Temptation the 18th hole plays merely a long iron and a wedge but also offers the opportunity to drive the green. Surrounded by water, it is a classic card wrecker and provides an interesting finish to any match play game.
Adding to its overall splendour is the clubhouse dating back to the 1820’s. Over looking the 18th green, players can sit and relax over a drink, whilst watching fellow golfers negotiate the demanding shot over water. It provides a perfect setting to compliment a great day’s golf.

Our group has played this course 3 times this year it's not too difficult and excellent value for money, we ate there once but the food quality was varied.
-
A well designed course giving the feeling of spaciousness with no back to back holes.. Played in the summer when the course was in good condition with no unraked bunkers and divot marks on greens unlike many turn up and play courses. A well stocked shop and adequate if not lavish locker room and bar with patio overlooking the 18th. Well worth a visit.

We have played the course a number of times since February to June 2015. Over this period we have seen and experienced the improvements on the course from tee off boxes, to fairways and greens. Last week, most greens were true and even. Would have no hesitation in recommending this course. Also, there are excellent practice and range facilities but note they do not open until 9am!

Pro shop staff are always very pleasant and helpful. Course is very challenging and picturesque. Beautiful views of surrounding countryside.

I found this course exceptional. Plays nice and easy if you're on the fairways, but watch out for the trees, water and out of bounds that make the course a dangerous opponent. Keeping the ball in play is imperative...As an 18 handicapper, a 43 on the front nine was followed by a 53 on the back 9 as I managed to find the Out of Bounds on too many occasions. The Greens have subtle turns, and are fair. All in all would recommend a visit.

make no mistake this golf course is one of the best in yorkshire,,,the condition of the course exellent,as was the layout.the par 3 over the pond is inspireing.we had a great meal in clubhouse too...the only slight snag is that they dont take 2-fore-1 at weekend but this is an exellent course that you must play to appreciate just how good it is

I like this course a lot but struggle to recommend it for two reasons: (1) Twice I've had bad experiences with the local youth who use the course as a play ground. First time they knicked my ball from the fairway. Second time they hurled insults at me amd my wife whilst playing. I chased them off but that's not the point! When we mentioned this in the pro shop the reaction was "yes, it happens a lot"!! (2) Not the most welcoming club I've played. Not unfriendly, but not exactly welcoming either. However, perhaps I've just been unlucky. The course deserves a visit, just watch out!
