Stocksbridge Golf Club

What we say
Short but testing par-65 hilltop layout created in 1924 by a local steelworks for its staff. Its location means it’s exposed to the elements and that fact, plus the tiny greens, ensure it’s not as straightforward as the card suggests.

Stocksbridge Golf Club, situated 11 miles from Sheffield, was formed in 1924 by a local steelworks for its employees. The golf club offers a warm welcome to all visitors, whether as part of a small casual party or as a larger society event (for whom various package deals are available). While relatively short by today's standards the golf course, with its tough terrain and sometimes strong winds, offers a decent test to all levels of golfer. The small greens ensure that accuracy is a main priority and the golf course’s hilltop position affords some stunning views of the surrounding area.

i have just recently become a member at stocksbridge golf club. When i first went up i had a great welcome and everybody was so inviting, especially rodger broad who is the clubs professional who invited me to try the course out before i actually offically became a member so i could get used to the course layout. The only downfall is that i have a sq tour bag which is very big,so unfortunately there lockers are too small to store my bag at the club. but apart from that its absolutley brilliant!!! Also great value for money. you definatley get your moneys worth, as it is a very challenging course to play, but is in great condition for its size.
