Lindrick Golf Club

What we say

A cracking heathland layout just outside Worksop and Lee Westwood’s home course before he upped sticks to the sunshine state of Florida. You’ll encounter a marvellous combination of holes, including both short and tricky and long and demanding par-4s and some smashing short holes – unusually the round finishes with a slightly uphill par-3 in front of the striking clubhouse. The Lindrick is best remembered for staging the 1957 Ryder Cup which resulted in a long-awaited (24 years) GB & Ireland victory over the USA. The course is always in immaculate condition and an absolute joy to play.

Lindrick Golf Club has maintained its reputation as one of Britain’s finest inland golf courses thanks to its enviable year-round fantastic condition. Rather unusually, the golf course finishes with a par 3, but this distinctive hole is one of the finest climaxes in golf.

Lindrick Golf Club is widely regarded as one of Britain’s finest inland golf courses. It started life as a nine holer in 1891 but within three years was turned into an 18 hole layout. It’s experienced many changes since then but it was not until 1957 that Lindrick achieved international recognition – it hosted the Ryder Cup which resulted in a long-awaited success for GB & Ireland who  turned a 3-1  into a 7.5-4.5 win on the final day.

(January 2015) Lindrick golf club will be adding three new tees, eight additional bunkers together with three strategically positioned fairway mounds, which will involve changes to seven holes overall. The works will commence in February 2015. This is another stage of Lindrick's enhancement programme. In 2014 a second pedestrian tunnel was opened to ensure that golfers no longer encounter any road crossing with a total expenditure of over £1m. A new driving range and short game area has also been introduced together with a state of the art irrigation system, while work on the new changing rooms will be completed in January.
