Matfen Hall Golf Club – Dewlaw Course

It’s simply a very nice parkland course and a great place to play the game. It’s made for corporate golf, although it also stages some top regional tournaments, including the Northern Rock PGA. For events such as that, the course is set up a lot tougher than normal. The on-site hotel, based around an ancient hall, is an added bonus. The star hole is definitely the par-3 17th. It’s a 200 yarder over water and it is tough – even for the pros!

Matfen Hall Golf Club is a regular venue for professional and county amateur events, Matfen Hall's 18-hole golf course is rated as one of the finest in Northumberland. Sympathetically laid out on a classic parkland landscape, the 6569-yard golf course incorporates challenging water features and unique obstacles such as the dry stone "ha ha" wall. It offers an enjoyable test for golfers of all abilities.

Set in a beautiful location, facilities also include a high quality nine hole par three golf course and a new purpose-built clubhouse, the “Keeper’s Lodge”, which makes an excellent and welcoming “19th hole”.

  We played the course of the white tees and really enjoyed the challenge . Bunkers not great but there was a lot of rain . Tee boxes, fairways and greens were excellent. Give it a go you won't be disappointed. The food was great try the burger oh my god!!!!

  Superb facilities and the course is kept in excellent condition but it is a little underwhelming at times. Very penal rough so don't stray from the fairway!
