Flamborough Head Golf Club

What we say
The wind is usually a major factor on this dramatic clifftop layout plotted on this famous piece of headland just down the coast from Bempton Cliffs, home of one of the UK’s biggest gannet colonies. Par 71 perched on the clifftops overlooking the North Sea on Yorkshire’s best-known headland and overlooked by the impressive Flamborough lighthouse. A recent extension enhances the test.

Founded in 1931 Flamborough Head Golf Club, perched high on the cliff tops overlooking the North Sea, is the ideal place to enjoy your golf. Recently extended the golf course is now a 6189 yards par 71 test for any level of golfer to enjoy.
The cliffs which drop steeply from the boundaries of the golf course are home to a large variety of sea birds, including the colourful and comical puffin. The lucky visitor may also see seals basking in the sea below the cliffs.

Played this course on Sat 28th April 2012. The welcome form the club was brilliant, form the past cpatain in the pro shop to the ladies in the bar and kitchen nothing was too much trouble. The course is open and looks stright forward from phots and the club house. This is not the case it is full of chracter and needs 100% concentration. The fairways were very good and the greens consistent if a little long but this was probably due to the heavy rain had all week prior to playing. The four blind tee shots are well marked with posts and are easy to follow. All of the greens welcome the approach shots and are inclined towards the approach. When the wind blows the course does become a real test and all shots need to be thought through. There are subtle humps and hoolows and the course has many contours whcioh cannot be seen from the clubs hous or photo's. As you approach the back nine the tenth is fantastic from an elevated tee into a well guraded three on two levels - a three is possible. Then you have the 11th - par 5 monster, a blind tee shot over the hill and then you are along the cliff tops, driver three wood and a four iron form 150 gets you to the front edge. The views are great and the course is well worth a visit. I would recommend the course to any one and the homely atomosphere of the club staff is great. Worth a visit particlular in the wind.

The booking was handled fantastically, prices were explained and i knew exactly what i was going to pay. We played on Sat 2nd July and booked a buggy. The pro shop was really friendly and explained the layout of the course. Pactice facilities are great and the Pro came to let us know there was free space infrom of our tee off time if we wanted to be off early. The course was in fantastic condition and was hillier than i expected a great challange, landiong on the wrong side of the green enevitably lead to a 3 putt, the undulations were great. The only slight negative was the speed of the greens, they were unnaturally slow and made it even more difficult to putt on the undulations. Other than that perfect, the other users of the course were really friendly as we were taking in the vista. You just have to play this course

Myself and a group of friends played there in May in blazing sunshine - and I think the only day they have had there without any wind!! The views were amazing and the course in excellent condition. Can be a bit tricky for first time players of the course as there are a few blind shots to be played but a great challenge all the same. Greens were in good condition. We used 2 fore 1 vouchers and was well worth the £20 we paid each. Would recommend the course to anyone. Had a very nice meal in the clubhouse afterwards too. A great day.

One of the better courses I have ever played with a good clubhouse with lovely views out onto the north sea, get ready for the middle stretch of your round with holes 10 to 12 with the par 3 10th green lying about 100 feet beneath you as you tee off, you can barely even see the green especially of the whites, the 11th is a massive par 5 that I struggled to reach in 3 and the 12th is a beauty almost drivable about 300 yards surrounded by water, a top class links course highly recommended for golfer of all standards.

Nice welcome and a great golf course . We played on a really sunny day , and it was a pleasure to be there. Good greens , some great holes and they do 2 for 1. Get yourselves there , its a great day out and well worth a visit.

Lamborough offers a challenge in most weathers due to the cliff top position and prevailing winds. Good quality greens and undulating greens combined with a complete lack of trees lead to some challenging links golf. Holes to note are the par 3 10th and the par 511th along the cliff top. Stunning views ! Pro, members and staff were very welcoming and would highly recommend a visit.
