What we say
Designed by Dr. Alister MacKenzie, a name synonymous with Augusta National -the home of the US Masters - South Moor is one of only two MacKenzie designed courses in the region, Durham's only true heathland course and one of only 40 or so in the UK.
Ultimately though, South Moor is a great challenge, a tough but fair examination of every part of the game. The clubhouse provides a great place for reflection. Take a drink into the conservatory, gaze out and up the eighteenth fairway and wonder how anyone could possibly miss such a wide-open area....

I recently played this course with my father who is a member, the course was in immaculate condition and the greens were in great shape. Not an easy course with plenty of heather and gorse on the back 9 to catch any wayward tee shots. Lots of great individual holes, my only complaint was the bunkers could do with a little more sand in them, but apart from that it really was in great condition. Now thinking about joining as a full time member
