Dinsdale Spa Golf Club

Situated between Middleton St George and Neasham village and within 10 minutes of the Durham and Tees Valley Airport, this picturesque parkland golf course offers enjoyable and challenging golf for all levels of golfers.
The course has recently been reconfigured by the introduction of two new holes on the front nine, which has created a 6462 yard par 72 course, demonstrating the ongoing investment by the club to provide the membership with a well maintained, manicured course, incorporating 3 demanding par 5's and 3 equally tricky par 3's which will test all golfers. Strategically placed water features also play an important part on the course.
A prominent feature at Dinsdale Spa is the very extensive well maintained practice area complete with two covered driving bays, which provides the members with the opportunity to hone their game. It also provides excellent teaching facilities for the professionals. Another important feature at the Club are the very active Ladies and Junior sections which will always extend a friendly welcome to any new members, hence with such a strong Ladies section the club is able to support club mixed competitions throughout the year.

  Recently visited Dinsdale Spa when other courses in the locality were closed due to waterlogging. First thing to mention was the friendly welcome by the pro and also the groundstaff who offered some advise about the course. After a good round, and in fact the greenkeeper catching up with us half way through to get our opinions on the quality of the greens we retreated to the clubhouse for a bacon butty and a coffee. Again, the staff in the club house were very friendly and even though extremely busy preparing for an Xmas party took time out to prepare our food and coffee and have a chat. We both really felt that we were part of the club even though we were only visitors and it is at the top of our play list when the rain eventually stops falling. I'd have marked this as outstanding if it wasn't for the roped off areas around some of the greens protecting them from damage by trolleys and making navigation to the greens a little awkward.

   It's a nice course, and the clubhouse (while being monstrously ugly) is quite well appointed. But the course is in terrible condition. The greens are patchy and bumpy. Some of the fairway bunkers are like concrete. The fairways are generally patchy and full of weeds, with cooch grass and buttercups growing all over. Add in lots of bald patches round the greens, and tees with no grass and it's a sorry picture. It's a real shame.

  After playing most of the courses in the northeast this is right up there with the very best.The course was superb,the pro very friendly,the only let down was the conduct of some of the members.looking down ones nose i thought was a thing of the past and something golf could do with out.Im sure that all the members are not like that,however we shant be going back.
