What we say
The course is virtually flat with four minor inclines giving associated uphill and downhill fairways.
Individual trees and both small and large copses are major attractions and hazards of the course, and on many holes necessitate accurate driving to facilitate a conventional direct shot to the relative green.
All greens are 400/450 sq yds in area, so are comparatively large giving all handicap golfers hope of achieving the elusive relevant par or birdie.
In May 1997 a new Clubhouse was completed, which offers excellent facilities for both members and visitors. Friendly staff provides quality cuisine at all times.

Chester Le Street golf course can be divided into 2 courses as the first 11 holes differ from the other 7, The first 11 holes are quite challenging and are undulating. The second half of the course plays long with the 15th being an almost unreachable in regulation (par 4 ). The course is now over 100 years old so any player can benefit from the fully grown and mature course. The course is well kept and has beautiful view of Lumley Castle as you play. The area holes where the river is brought into play on the left. Wildlife is also never far away and the countless pheasants, squirrels and other animals can be almost gaurenteed to be seen. The club house is only a few years old and facilities are very good however the only bad point is that debit/credit cards are not accepted over the bar.
