Bishop Auckland Golf Club

What we say
The course was in excellent condition and flanked by many well-established trees. Greens were small and undulating, calling for some precise approach play. The star hole is the par-3 7th. It’s only a flick with a wedge, but danger lurks everywhere.
Situated in the Land of the Prince Bishops with views of the picturesque Wear Valley, it is easy to see why Bishop Auckland Golf Club is considered one of the golfing treasures of County Durham.
Founded in 1894 on land owned by the Church Commission, the parkland golf course has retained much of its original character whilst being modified to keep pace with the demands of modern golf.
The golf course boasts quality fairways and the greens are fine and true. Top hole is the 7th which has figured in many a magazine and is rated one of the best holes in the North East.
