Lee Park Golf Club

What we say
Whilst an easy walking parkland course, Lee Park Golf Club offers a good test of accurate driving. A good short game is essential to attack the well-protected greens.
Lee Park is always in immaculate condition, as evidenced by the recently awarded Silver Category by the independent assessor from HSBC. Further testimony to the club’s growing reputation is that it is still the only Merseyside club to have achieved the EGU GolfMark award in 2006 for its work with young players. It also gained the EGU Environment award in 2008 for its committment and actions in providing an eco friendly, sustainable golf course.

Played with a society on this excellent parland course. Pleanty of features especially the 18th. Beware of the very tricky greens. A joy to play on.

Lee park is a really nice parkland course with a some tough holes. Greens are always in fantastic condition and several holes are really pretty, especially on the back 9. There are two long and tough par 4's that run opposite to each other (14 &15) that have brought my round to halt a few times however! Would certainly recommend the course.

New sandstone walling/ditch feature around new lake next to the 18th - almost finished and I believe will be open in April this year. Best finishing hole on Merseyside. WOW!!

Since last review in 2008, the course has improved each year. No drop zones; rough cut to playable Course Policy height, immacualte condition of course; awarded HSBC Silver medal in 2009 by "secret shopper" for friendliness and course condition; awarded three EGU accreditatations for GolfMark,(the way Juniors are looked after) ClubMark and Environment (improvements to wildlife and sustainable golf policies) ; rated by our world class R & A agronomist Alistair Beggs in 2011 as "best parkland greens he had seen....championship quality" All visitors and societies assured of warm welcome.

Lee Park has been undergoing a new maintenance structure for many years now, its nice to see some of the features now in place since I last played a few years ago. Sadly i feel it could do with a little further tidy up work, on almost every hole there are free drop zones marked to let the trees grow although the the grass is far too long making it impossible to find your ball. there are always 2 options (1) hit the ball straight or (2) buy alot of balls, be sure there not titlest v1's though.
