What we say
Among the best of the Golf Coast’s inland alternatives, this is a mature parkland, originally designed by Harold Hilton, with a great variety of holes plotted within 125 scenic acres.
The original layout consisted of nine holes and in 1901 it was decided to extend the golf course to 18 holes. The formal opening of the new 18 holer took place two years later.
The existing clubhouse was officially opened in 1914 but has undergone a number of modifications since then.
History lesson: A crescent shaped hollow near the brook on the left of the 16th hole is reputed to have been an emplacement for a battery of Cromwell's forces which attacked Lathom House in 1644.

I didn't find a single weed on the course and the tees were immaculate and the greens were very challenging and sloped, the night before it rained, so it was in some places very wet but the overall drainage system worked suprisingly well. I really like this course and would love to play again. Would Reccomend to all standards of play and some very challenging holes! I was made welcome to the course as when i went past lots of players my dads friend was a member there so he introduced me to them and they were very friendly!
