I visited Disley last week. I received a very warm welcome from the professional and managed to get out early. The course was very quiet which suited my playing partner and myself as we could take in the amazing scenery and views that the course has to offer. The course was in excellent condition and the greens were very fast, too fast for my ability!! I will definitely be re visiting Disley.

I took a day of work and played a round with a member of my family, we were squeezed in between two competitions and was looking forward to playing. There had been heavy rain the day before and drove over an hour from Sheffield. I received a warm welcome but was hungry after the drive and was a little disappointed the kitchen and bar was closed so I had to make do with just a coffee. The course provides a testing round with various holes and breathtaking views. The greens had been heavily sanded which made putting difficult. My main two issues was the speed of play and the drainage of the course. We were told in the pro shop that there were no temporaries only to find three around the bottom of the course which was still very wet, as we moved up the hill the conditions obviously improved. We were booked in behind a seniors competition of which were very pleasant and friendly however we were expecting to fly round the course but instead were held up on just about every hole apart from the last three, I'm glad I had taken the day off that's all I can say. Overall we had a good days golf and good value at £14 with 2 fore 1 vouchers, I would like to come back to Disley and play it in the Summer months and see the course in its true light
