I've played this course from October every week through the winter without seeing a temporary green or tee box, it just doesn't happen. Amazingly free draining course. Very pretty in places with views over the Severn valley to the hills and very well maintained indeed. It's wide and forgiving of wayward drives. The clubhouse is nice (always a nice guest bitter on) and the members are friendly. A well stocked Pro-shop with nice staff. A thoroughly well run Golf course. Joined today as a flexible member.

Played Ombersley a couple of times now and can't fault anything about it. The course is incredibly well presented, the welcome friendly and the views second to none. I'd play there regularly if I lived closer.

1.335y par 4 straight hole wide fairway easy opener, only one bunker behind green. could do with a bunker driving distance on the right, and in the dip in front of the green on the right. 5/10 2.370y par 4 dog leg left fairway, good tee shot is req'd to give yourself a good shot in. again no hazards apart from out of bounds down the left. tiger line over the bushes/trees on the left is the ideal tee shot, or a draw aiming at the aerials in the distance!! 7/10 3.520y par 5, great hole, good tee shot to corner of dog leg right aprrox 200-230y, out of bounds on the 6th fairway/green on the right. the fairway is then dead straight uphill, club up one for approach! bunkers front left & right, green very tricky, leave yourself an uphill putt for this one!8/10 4.290y par 4 massive open fairway with trouble on far left and right, all the scrub on the right has been shaved down to speed play up, a shame really because that caught me out reguarly! easy hole 5/10,bunkers around green needed again here. 5. 150y par3 good hole with bunkers front right and side left. good green 7/10 6.510y par 5 over the hill and slight dog leg left. reachable in 2 if you bomb a good tee shot, remember to ring bell on left to notify waiting players on tee!! again only a couple of bunkers, approx 150y on right from green & approx 50y on left from green.best way to play is knock your 2nd down to bunker on the right and you'll have a lofted club in, or fly one over the trees on the left if your tee shot was short & you fancy a go at the green!! green again flat and easy to read. 8/10 7. 310y par 4 uphill tee shot approx 200y to corner then right angle to the left. tee shot straight at hole is possible but an average strike will leave you with a 50-50 lie because of the trees up there, a good lie will you a lob wedge in! bunker front left, green pretty tough if hole is in a certain position ( sort of front middle/right) and you are putting downhill (subtle green!!) best way to play is straight up the middle and leave yourself a lofted club over the hedge to the green. 7/10 8. 190y par 3 good hole, tough straight tee shot, bunkers left and right, fairly open if you miss green wide left or right 8/10 9.360y par 4 good driving will leave you with nice approach in, trouble right with tall conifers and out of bounds down the right, nb, a shot at the green from over there can really destroy your score, you need to be left really which will open green up. 6/10 bunkers back and left needed. 10. 300y par 4 dog leg right with trouble down the right, out of bounds in and around the driving range, but open if you can knock it past the corner of the range which leave you only a wedge in,bunker in front with a big fall off over the back, easy green again flat. 7/10 11.200y par 3, a signature hole, a big valley in front of tee box,a few trees on left, out of bounds down the right, bunker on the right of green. 8/10 12.par 5 525y, a 3 shot par 5 really, big open fairway with out of bounds down the right, bunker 300yards off tee down right!! bizarre!! it needs pulling back 70y at least.bunker 200-225 off tee down left. straight hole with downhill green, bunkers approx 40y in front of green on left, you need to be short and right really for an uphill putt. 6/10 13.par4 370y, a straight hole uphill, bunker around the 150y marker on the left, flat green with bunker on the right hand side. 6/10 14.par 4 380y, good par4 this with two bunkers approx 230-240 on the left, raised green, no bunkers, flat green. 7/10 15.par 4 300y dog leg right from around 100y from green. bunker approx 200-225 from tee on the right. trees down the right, but open if you are far enough right, trees are on the right in front of green. 7/10 16.par4 325y dog leg left with green down in a little dip. good tee shot will leave only a wedge in.no bunkers, out of bounds down the left,a bit of rough a blind approach shot this, but fire at the pin for a good birdie chance, if you run it in there is a chance it will run right through the back, flat green. 7/10 17.par 3 180y a great par 3 uphill all the way with a tough green to hit with bunkers left and right, trees to the right and open to the left, green slopes to the front so it's better to leave an uphill putt here. 7/10, I think they should shorten this hole and build the tee box higher. 18. par 5 520y another signature hole, bunker to far up really to reach, around 280ish on the right, needs to be pulled back 50yards. reachable in 2 though this one if you can fly one over the lake. another bunker on the left around the 150y marker. hazard is the lake of course and it is decieving when you are playing your 2nd and a lot of balls go in. play down the left over the bunker if you are laying up, but don't overcook it because there is wispy long rough down there. two tiered green, so if the pin is at back, fly it there because you will be putting through the step. flat green. no bunkers around green 7/10. i would shorten this hole and make a really good long par 4 with a tricky approach shot over the lake. overall a good course with good views on the back 9, the course is playable 364 days a year & with reasonable green fees for the pay and play golfer. I find the membership for the 365 day player is quite high at around £900+ for 12 months. Another thing is if the course is busy it always stacks up on the 8th and 11th so be aware of long round if there a lot of 4 balls out!! i have had a 5/12 6hr round before. (average round normally 4-1/2 hrs) this course is set up for intermediate players and beginners really as you will see from lack of hazards and trees, it is fairly forgiving which is why you will get a lot of societies playing here. overall 6.8/10

This is an open and relatively straight forward course. It offers something for beginners and seasoned players. The views across the Severn Valley to the Malvern & Clee Hills are beautiful. A very warm welcome is always offered and the practice facilities are comprehensive. The club works hard to maintain the course and rarely has to close. However, the bunkers could be better drained in wet weather. There is a very active Gents, Ladies and Senior sections with plenty of competitions available. Tee times could be better spaced (six minutes only) so slow players can cause problems.
