What we say
Walsall Golf Club's 18 hole golf course has an abundance of sand traps. Each and every green is closely guarded by bunkers requiring a precise second shot. The layout is little changed from Dr Mackenzie's original design but a careful programme of tree planting over the last fifty years means that every fairway is tree lined calling for greater accuracy from the tee than most golf courses.
The length is 6250 yds giving rise to a par of 70 but such is the test of the golf course that the standard scratch is 71. It is however, an "easy walking" parkland golf course and as such is suitable for all types and ages of golfers

Absolute gem of a course. Being a single handicap member of Beau Desert (in the top 70 courses in england) I have fairly high expectations and I am pleased to say Walsall GC did not disappoint. The holes are all individual, beautifully tree lined and a great test to any level of golfer. The course was in immaculate condition and most importantly the greens were true and running lovely. From the moment I passed through the gates the members were polite and the golf pro shop staff more than helpful. I had the pleasure of a conversation with the 2014 Captain who again was welcoming and a sure sign of what a friendly, welcoming and great place to play golf. I thoroughly recommend WGC.

Sorry but this course is not worth visiting. The course itself is okay at best, although the drainage is terrible and bunkers are in bad condition. This is all overshadowed though by the unfriendly, unwelcoming, obnoxious attitude that prevails from members and staff alike. I've played there 3 times and experienced it every time. If every golf club was like this I would give the game up for good.

Played this course in high summer. Greens are very quick, with many two-tiered, all with interest. Relatively easy course to walk, but challenging to play. No hidden dangers, but course management is critical on this tree-lined course. Definitely a course to play if you can.
