Stonebridge Golf Club

Stonebridge Golf Club celebrated its 10th anniversary but with a lot of established trees dotted around, the course looks older than it actually is which is always a good sign.  There’s some mature timber on the golf course too, so it’s important to put your ball in the right places otherwise you can easily find yourself blocked out by the trees. The greens weren’t particularly great when we checked it out with one or two suffering owing to the particularly hot, dry summer. There’s a terrific finale in the shape of a par 4  featuring a potentially pesky, card-wrecking pond in the middle of the fairway.

Stonebridge Golf Club golf course is a decade old and will have 27 holes on offer in late 2007 with a new nine holes currently in the making.

  Been a club member here for over 3 seasons now and wanrted to provide a more up to date review since the new 9 holes opened. The course is now split into 3 loops of 9 - Hampton (par 33), Blyth (par 33) and Somers (par 37). If your given the choice i would play the a par 70 to give yourself the best chance of scoring. The new holes are integrated into the two shorter 9's which provides a curious blend of parkland and links syle golf. Its an interesting dynamic although i think the new holes have a little way to go to reach the standards on the more established course. The Hampton 9 has some good holes with a premium on accuracy off the tee rather than length. The Blyth has some tricky holes with some high tarriff shots required to ensure a good score. The Somers as the par indicates is much longer and here good length of the tee is an advantage. Definately the easiest 9 to score on although there is still plenty of opportunity to rack up a good number here are there. Course facilties are excellent with a large driving range, chipping area and putting green providing everything a keen club golfer could want.

  i last played today and i am playing alot 3 to 4 games a week in the next 3 weeks they have a bril junior team andalot on compotions during the week. they have a lot of long and awkward par 3's and i love the course the rough is not very forgiving like a very famous course carnoustie and on the 5th - 7th of september they have the pro-am tour ther and it is also on sky be sure not to miss it .i play around in 94 and i dont mind tel me what uv got on the couse and what you go around in iv been playing 4 8months tel me if you think i am doing ok bubi (p.s sory for the long review)

  A good course - no better no worse. It isn't very long but is well maintained and I have enjoyed it every time I've played there. It has no memorable holes and the climax of a 100yard par 3 followed by a short easy par 4 isn't the best. I haven't played the new 9 yet so have hopes for this.

  As previously said not the longest but I thoroughly enjoyed the course and will be going back. The driving range, along with putting and chipping green give me the chance to practice in the evening and the staff are one of the friendliest I have come across.

  Good parkland course with varied range of holes and good greens. Good course for intermediates and game improvers. Not the longest of courses at 5745 (off yellows) with short front nine with par 33. 36 par coming back is a bit longer. Wouldn't be long enough to give a serious test low handicappers, but a good all round test for intermediates as several holes require good course management. The 3rd for instance although only a 280yd par 4 has tight trees down left, big tree in the middle of the fairway and 2 water hazards down the right, so is a more tricky than it might at first look! The practice facilities are good with a driving range that you fire out into a lake! The changing facilities are adequate and a bar and terrace available for food and drink post round. Green fees £15-20 per round (more expensive on Fridays+weekend)
