What we say
Radcliffe-on-Trent Golf Club is within easy reach of Nottingham, Leicester, Newark and Grantham and offers a superb 18-hole parkland golf course measuring 6374 yards with three of the most challenging finishing holes in Nottinghamshire.
The club was founded in 1909 with approx. 40 acres of land, and affords splendid views over the Vale of Belvoir, the castle itself appearing in the background. Lord Manvers leased to the club enough land to open its original 9-hole golf course but in 1924 the club purchased the land from Lord Manvers and acquired a further 50 acres, enabling the 18-hole golf course to be opened in 1925.

Nice course. Tight but not silly, rough was tough but not ridiculous, greens slower than they looked and didn't break as much as they would do if faster. Some GUR on fairways due to recent flooding. Bunkers recently filled with sand (again due to flooding) that seems a touch to soft and powdery - but a welcome change from the clay like bunker sand that the floods left on most courses. All in all a good day out. Highlight for me was birdie on par3, gross 2 for nett 0! Low light was the fact that the 19th doesn't take plastic - the members have a bar card but visitors is cash only - in this day and age!
