The Nottinghamshire Golf & Country Club – Open Course
Last updated:
What we say
Nestling in the Nottinghamshire countryside, Cotgrave Place Golf Club boasts two 18-hole golf courses plotted over 300 acres. The Open golf course comprises a front nine built around the stunning lake and a back nine winding through mature trees while the Masters layout - designed in part by Peter Alliss - combines ancient hedgerows and undulating fairways with large greens and strategically-placed water hazards.

Ive played here a few times , nice course(looses its way a little out of sight of the club house) Hospitality seems to be very business orientated and cold? Better courses in the area.

After reading some of the previous comments left about the Nottinghamshire i was slightly unsure about what to expect. After playing both courses with 3 of my friends however i must say that we were very pleased with both the courses and the service. For the time of year i found that the courses were in brilliant condition, especially the greens and talking to the pro afterwards was told that the greens can reach 11.5 in the summer. The open course has water on quite a few of the holes and represents a decent test of golf with the masters course being slightly easier but still enjoyable. The service in the bar was friendly and fast and the food was good. There is also a driving range which is always a bonus. I was also told that they are planning a large renovation to parts of the clubhouse and that the new sole owner is planning on putting a lot more money into the club. All in all we were very happy with our experience at the Nottinghamshire and will be going back soon.

I play golf regularly with 9-10 friends who live in and around Nottingham. I went to paly here one Friday morning back in the spring and although we arrived in plenty of time when we went to pay we felt rushed, the green fee had gone up from last time we were here and the Pro said you won't find better value in *Nottingham. We played, the course was Okay, but when we finished we did not have a drink and went to the pub just down the road for a couple of pintts and a roast dinner. *The proof of the pudding here is I have played 25 rounds of golf since visiting Cotgrave at 10 different local courses ..... and some of my friend even more, not one of us has gone back to or even suggested going back!

We visited the open course Sun 16th with our society and have a great day. The value for money was excellent £25 which included bacon roll and coffee on arrival 18 holes and pie and chips after. Great Deal. The course was interesting with the water round greens and across fairways making you think about shots. I thought the course was in good condition for the time of year and would like to go back next year and play the Masters course. The greens were in good condition and true, overall for a society day you can't go wrong

Played it for the first time in ages and was really impressed with the course, and particularly the speed of the greens.

I can agree with the previous comments about the quality of the service and hospitality at this club, but I found the Masters course to be woeful. The tees were in a poor state of repair, lorries and diggers were creating so much noise I thought I was on a building site and the mounds of earth around the course detracted from what could have been a reasonable course.

I'd agree with the previous comments. Lovely courses and the work being carried out will undoubtedly make them even better, but the service leaves a lot to be desired. Not quite hostile, but near enough.
