What we say
SAVE UP TO 29%. Book online now. A fine golfing venue amidst picturesque rural Northamptonshire countryside – Hellidon is a bit out ‘in the sticks’ though on the other hand it is fairly close and convenient to the motorway network. The golf course itself is relatively short but challenging nonetheless – the rolling nature of the main Red and Blue nines ensure that as you’re bound to be hitting from a variety of lies, very often to a raised green meaning your approach play needs to be pretty accurate. There’s an interesting finale too – a par 3 over a lake with the green sitting right in front of the hotel.

Hellidon Lakes Hotel and Golf Club, nestling in its own valley deep in the English countryside, is a secret world. From the moment you drive through the entrance you become part of private nature reserve, consisting of 220 acres with 27 holes of spectacular golf.
From the elevated position of the first tee, with its inviting fairway and green stretching below, the eye can wander over the shimmering lakes, which are the main feature of the golf course.
Beyond the lakes, as far as the eye can see, lie mile upon mile of unspoilt open countryside. This complete panorama guarantees the player a truly memorable experience.
Accommodation: There's an on-site hotel with 110 rooms, excellent leisure amenities including a swimming pool, tenpin bowling and an indoor golf simulator.

though it was a little wet underfoot, it has superb views and quite tricky greens, we all felt that it will be a great course to go back and play in the summer

Good accommodation and facilities in the hotel and friendly staff. The course was in good condition and a test for all golfers especially the higher handicap players. Course management and accuracy is the key with this course and a yardage book is a must to work out where to land the ball so to make the most of your approach shot. Because of this I wouldn't recommend the course for high handicap players but mid to low will find it a good test. The three things they should work on is to make it a bit more friendly to high handicap players as many of the group I was with didn't enjoy the course. The other is to have separate score cards for the various loop combinations one card with several S.I. repeated made it hard to manage the competition score for the society I was with. Overall it was a nice place with good facilities but in the future we will look nto find a course that will suit a wider range in ability and that all would enjoy playing.
