Priors Hall Golf Club

Priors Hall certainly doesn’t lack pedigree – it was designed by the prolific Fred Hawtree and was opened in 1967 by Tony Jacklin.

It’s a sound pay-and-play venue best experienced in the summer: the undulating parkland layout is based on clay and as a result can get soggy fairly swiftly.

The generally generous fairways mean you can regularly let rip with the driver though there are several holes where you really need to use all your golfing nous and course management skills.

The Corby Priors Hall Golf Club was officially opened in 1967 by Tony Jacklin. It was designed by Fred Hawtree, one of Britain's finest golf course architects, and is open to all as a pay-and-play venue offering exceptional value for money.

The fairways are wide, with generous light-rough margins. However, there are also adequate water hazards, mature trees, areas of thick rough and 58 bunkers - all well placed and shaped within Hawtree's challenging design, making this course good for beginning golfers as well as the more advanced!

  from the down hill view of the 1st to the uphill finish to the par 5 18th this course is a challenge for any golfer.the 9th hole is a tricky par 4 with a water hazard all the way along the right side,punishing the slicer.58 bunkers are well placed which keep you thinking about almost ever shot with some hiding away over the hills on the 7th and 16th waiting to grab your ball unbeknown to you standing on the tee.the club pro is a friendly chap who is willing to help you with what ever your needs.the well stocked pro shop is cheaper than most with bargains to be had.the 19th hole has a variety foods and drinks to satisfy most tastes.

  not bad for a municipal course, generally in good condition, although you'll probably find a few unrepaired pitch marks on the greens. layout is good, with some excellent holes, 10 thru 14 are about the best for me. pretty good facilities to go with it, although people playing in footy shirts and bermudas isn't everyones idea of golf attire.
