What we say
Lingdale Golf Club has a reputation for being one of the friendliest golf clubs in the county. It nestles in beautiful countryside in the picturesque surroundings of the Charnwood Forest and is easily accessible from Loughborough or Leicester and only 10 minutes from the M1 motorway.
The 18 greens have been built to USGA specifications and the new clubhouse and pro shop provide the finest facilities for golfers of all abilities.
Designed in 1966 by golf course architect David Tucker, it was described by Tony Jacklin in 1989 as having 'probably the toughest opening three holes in the Midlands'.
In 2009, Lingdale Golf Club will host the Midland Group Qualifying matches for the English Men's National County Championship. Come and play the golf course yourself and enjoy the challenge and the scenery.

Interesting and well kept course in beautiful nature surroundings. Very friendly, helpful. Nice club house with good food. Great value for money.

While it should first be said that the course itself is very respectable and enjoyable, it is let down massively by the lack of facilities. When I visited in June (2015) with a member friend, I was amazed that he enjoyed the course so much as there was no option for buggies, no halfway house to enjoy a drink/snack and when we finished (7:45 on a Thursday) the ladybbehind the bar look at me gone out when I asked if they were serving food!! With better management and a bit of investment this could be a good course, as it is it's an ok course but you wouldn't rush back.

Unbelievable , the best caters in the business serving real homemade food and they go and sack them...! You really don't no what your doing, this place a has everything, apart from the food it would seam, your loss another clubs gain...!

5 of us visited last Friday and we cannot speak highly enough of this course and the staff. We were made to feel very welcome from minute one. Well stocked pro-shop and helpful team in there. We do 2 or 3 two for ones every summer and at Lingdale we played 27 holes and this is definitely one of the best value days that we have had. Course is really interesting, particularly the front nine. Couple of 'samey' holes on the back nine, but that is being really picky. Greens were very good and whole course was in excellent condition. The ladies in the clubhouse/bar were helpful and friendly and the food we were served was very good, both in terms of value and taste. Terry K. - Mansfield.

We walked 36 holes on the 2Fore!1 scheme that cost us £17.50p each, which you can only describe as outstanding value for money given the quality of the course. It was a real treat to play with fabulous scenery and a proper quality course with fast but true greens, and an interesting, testing layout. The Pro and members were really friendly (with the exception of a very stroppy lady member who chastised us for starting on the 10th when the Pro had told us to!) but the course was a fair and true test of golf. Our compliments to the Pro, the greenkeeping staff and the members for a great golfing day.

Nice enough course of which the front nine is extremely picturesque and is well worth a visit in the spring as it's set in the middle of Charnwood forest. Greens are good and quick and the new clubhouse is nice too. What lets it down slightly are a number of holes which look great aren't quite what you'd expect. For example there are a couple of doglegs, 2nd, 4th and 9th which you might hit a five/six iron to the corner of and then need a three wood to get on in the green in two. To get around the doglegs to make the hole shorter is extremely difficult (the ninth is easier than the other two by a long way as you can drive over the trees). The back nine is newer and is settling down well by the looks of things. It's longer on the back nine so you'll be needing to hit your driver well. On a two fore one, it's well worht a go. I found the members to be very welcoming as well...

Played Lingdale on a day ticket, very reasonable at £33, although we only managed 27 holes due to the conditions. Only one way I can describe this course, fantastic! Two nines of differing character but both excellent, with the best greens I have ever played on - even after a period of really atrocious weather. Pro shop is well stocked and the pro ws v. nice to us, clubhouse is great with excellent and v. reasonable food. Everyone we met on the day was very pleasant. Will definately be going back.

Played this on a 2-4-1 voucher ( at Day rate of £23 ) Enjoyable course and well designed clubhouse but cannot agree with 'friendliest club' statement. Always felt like being in the way with members giving us the glared looks. Tricky holes are the 12th all uphill with a misleading green once finally there ! and the 17th with numerous trees in the middle of the fairway. Nice day just wish I felt more welcome .
